The Idea and The Music

Ever since he bought a five acre farm, my friend has wanted to throw a music festival.
For years I had been hearing about it.
Then last year he comes to me and says, "It's happening."
So I went last year, to the inaugural Cornstock, not knowing what to expect
and never having been to the farm before.
I talked some friends into going with and we set off.
Hoping for the best but expecting the worse, sort of scenario.
And wound up having a great time at a great place.

The surrounding area is beautiful and farm itself is definitely showing
the fruits of his labor. A river meanders nearby and by day skydivers
are visible falling from the sky. At night the bonfire kept us warm and entertained.
There was music, a band drove up from the Washington coast and played
a set and then sat down for an intimate acoustic set, they were followed by
a folksy singer songwriter with her acoustic guitar. Several people camped overnight
and had breakfast Sunday morning.
All in all, a very fun time.

So with the trial run completed, those of us at the first one wanted to help out.
To let more people know and to bring more people out.
To have more music.

Thus began the Cornstock chronicles.
