Music is the cornerstone of a successful festival.
We need bands, performers, musicians who would like to play.

While money is nice, what we have at this point to offer instead:
Advertising and Exposure.
You'll be listed on all of our internet advetising:
www.CornStockFest.org, www.myspace.com/cornstockfest , facebook, friendster.

From the main website of CornStockFest.org you will have listings on
multiple pages. The artist page allows for a picture and a link to your
music for sale online. There's also a download page, where you can allow
people to download a song or sample. We'd be happy to toss a song or two
up on our myspace page as well as band links.

Offline, we're printing up promo material including business cards and flyers.
Ideally, we'll have confirmation in time to include the bands on the printed material.
At this point I'm thinking there will be at least two runs of print material, but shipping
will take probably two to three weeks as we're trying to do this on the cheap.

Bottom line: Confirm by April 30th and we'll have you listed on print material.

Ever since he bought a five acre farm, my friend has wanted to throw a music festival.
For years I had been hearing about it.
Then last year he comes to me and says, "It's happening."
So I went last year, to the inaugural Cornstock, not knowing what to expect
and never having been to the farm before.
I talked some friends into going with and we set off.
Hoping for the best but expecting the worse, sort of scenario.
And wound up having a great time at a great place.

The surrounding area is beautiful and farm itself is definitely showing
the fruits of his labor. A river meanders nearby and by day skydivers
are visible falling from the sky. At night the bonfire kept us warm and entertained.
There was music, a band drove up from the Washington coast and played
a set and then sat down for an intimate acoustic set, they were followed by
a folksy singer songwriter with her acoustic guitar. Several people camped overnight
and had breakfast Sunday morning.
All in all, a very fun time.

So with the trial run completed, those of us at the first one wanted to help out.
To let more people know and to bring more people out.
To have more music.

Thus began the Cornstock chronicles.
